: Can a Moderator please tapatalk enable this forum?
mcampana 07-10-2011, 12:15 PM Looks easy and its free from what i had read.
http://tapatalk.com/plugin.php
I use tapatalk on a few of the forums i am a member of and its great.
XenoMorph 07-10-2011, 12:40 PM Yes... its free... and its one line of code... tapatalk rules... we've been trying to get the Zrxoa tapatalk ready but no one wants to do it...
Bear on a bicycle 07-10-2011, 12:56 PM I don't think a moderator has the power to do so. We've sent request after request to admin about making our forum more mobile user friendly, but seems to fall on deaf ears. Not sure why. There are other threads about this. Feel free to PM him your request...

+1 to all requests. Adds will still show up, so they can make they're money.

lonerockz 07-23-2011, 10:45 PM I've sent an email to one of the forum owners. Hopefully he responds.
UAV online 09-14-2011, 05:07 PM We want tapatalk! We want tapatalk!
being able to access the forum via mobile would make our "lend a couch" thread much more useful.
you could be out on the road and be able to check to see if there is someone near you in case of emergency.
Bear on a bicycle 09-14-2011, 09:46 PM If only... if only....
We've asked and asked and asked. I don't know why our owners/admin haven't done anything about the mobile version of this site, but they seem happy to leave it as is.
mcampana 09-16-2011, 08:03 PM Who are the owners/admin?..
Who are the owners/admin?..
Bump, I'm curious as well. I appreciate the forum.
After searching a bit I see where www.motorcycle.com owns this site as well as other motorcycle forums......

Sorry about the delay!!! Admin: KawiMan (http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/member.php?u=4387)

And you are correct.

Sprocket 12-06-2011, 05:23 PM You can't just TapaTalk enable a forum. The software package they use to host a forum either supports or does not support this feature.
KawiMan 12-07-2011, 10:07 AM This site should be on our Motorcycle.com Mobile App network by next week at the very latest. I've submitted a request to have this site added.
We developed our own mobile app because we want to maintain control over it and update it when we can. We have no way to make sure that TapATalk would or could support any and every feature we incorporate into our sites.
TapATalk is owned by a small Chinese company, and we don't want to risk inconveniencing our members should something happen to them in the future. Yes, we know it's not likely, but hey, everyone said GM was too big to fail, remember?
We are also in the process of developing an ad-supported free Mobile App over the next couple of months if you'd want to wait.
Thanks. Would love to see the mobile app for my iphone.
Bones 12-07-2011, 05:02 PM Thanks. Would love to see the mobile app for my iphone.
Thanks. Would love to see the mobile app for my Android phone, too.
KawiMan 12-08-2011, 08:14 AM Our Mobile App is already developed for iOS and Android.
this is great news for my android, very bad news for my work productivity lol
I don't know if he can Tap A Talk but he can sure talk up a storm! :joke:
Ok I'll go back to my cave now! :D

This is unfortunant. Tapatalk is used by thousands and thousands of forums, really large, popular ones, as well as little bitty ones. It installs with one line of code to the vBulletin main page layout. I _can_ use this custom app or just the mobile version on my Android phone, but I use tapatalk for other forums, so it becomes a one-stop-forums-shop.

I'll bet you a donut that Tapatalk gets more developer attention, user feedback, and general updates that a one-off custom app.
Just my $.02

My feelings exactly. :thumb:
KawiMan 01-26-2012, 12:03 PM We develop many of our own scripts and plugins for our sites. How can we be guaranteed that Tapatalk would support those? Tapatalk isn't open-source, meaning the only people developing Tapatalk are Tapatalk developers.
Do they rely on user feedback? Sure, so do we.
As for updates, our App is used for hundreds of our sites, so if an issue does pop up, it gets handled right away. We wouldn't just ignore it.
techRob 01-26-2012, 07:20 PM Would this be the app?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkmotorcycle2.activity&feature=search_result
...not to argue, but it looks like it has the same foundation / structure of tap-a-talk. I'd really like to try this out first, as opposed to shell out $3, as the reviews make me weary.
(and just to answer your question, KawiMan, "How can we be guaranteed that Tapatalk woudl support those [custom scripts and plugs]?" - by testing :) ..not to be a butt, it just makes sense to give it a shot...but I'm sure making your own app and charging for it is a better way of doing business...makes sense.....I do feel the need to lean towards agreeing with everyone else though)
mcampana 01-26-2012, 10:40 PM Um,so where is the app for this forum then? A search for kawasaki versus comes up with nothing in the android market.
Jeff S 01-27-2012, 08:12 AM search for motorcycle.com (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkmotorcycle2.activity&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5xd W9vcmQudGFwYXRhbGttb3RvcmN5Y2xlMi5hY3Rpdml0eSJd) - the app is a custom, branded version of tapatalk that supports only the forums from motorcycle.com (see the list at the bottom of this page).
KawiMan 01-27-2012, 09:47 AM We just released our AutoGuide.com Free App, so the Motorcycle.com Free app should be out soon as well. (Personally I don't know when exactly - it's not my department)

Is ios Apple? I just looked in the app store and found autoguide.com app but its $2.99. No free version listed. If someone finds out the MC.com free app is available for Ipod, would you post up here please!
Thanks!
chitownpete 01-31-2012, 06:30 PM Don't bother, the site works great. We arent saving lives here.
mcampana 02-01-2012, 01:16 PM I'll take the free version whenever that shows up. I'd rather not pay 4 bucks without trying it first.

Why not bother?? If you can make a change that does not affect the forums functionality but allows more options for viewing and interacting, then why not? http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g167/pickin/Smileys/thinking.gif

I might take the free version if/when it shows up.
I will not pay $4 for something that already exists: Tapatalk
To be honest, I am a little miffed that I would need to even use a separate app to read this forum, when this forum could have been included in the Tapatalk format, let alone pay for the privilege of this inconvenience.

Moreover, the reasoning given for not going to Tapatalk (TAT) was future incompatibility with their scripting, yet they are using a TAT base.
KawiMan 02-03-2012, 11:52 AM Tapatalk App is $2.99
Motorcycle.com App is $2.99
I'm really not understanding all the issues you have here. This forum is free on your computer. This forum is free on your mobile browser. We currently sell an optional app for mobile use, and should be introducing a free ad-supported mobile app soon.

You are right, I can still read the forum for free, just like all the other forums that I am a member of. Even on my mobile device, by using the web browser.
My gripe is with the fact that I already have Tapatalk -just like millions of users- for many other forums that I want to read on my mobile device. I don't want to pay again for a different app, which is basically Tapatalk made proprietary to the motorcycle.com forums, and made so for reasons that IMHO are bull faeces.
mcampana 03-13-2012, 04:05 PM I just downloaded the free version. Kawasakiversys.com forum is NOT in the list of forums in the app.

See, you all made 'em mad. lol
mcampana 03-25-2012, 09:10 AM Well?
KawiMan 03-26-2012, 11:57 AM I requested that KV be added to our app back on December 7th. Lemme find out whats going on.
DaveC 05-05-2012, 10:32 AM Any news? I downloaded the Motorcycle.com app today, and KawasakiVersys.com is not one of the listed forums. I was able to access klrforum.com, but when I accessed the KawasakiVersys subforum there (which links to here), it left the app and opened the web browser. Not cool.
I noticed there's a paid (no ad, I assume) version of the app. Sorry, guys, but if you can't support your own forums on your own app after repeated requests over months, then I can't see any reason why I could expect any support for the app if there was an actual problem with it. If you want to ensure that a product isn't purchased by your audience, this is how you do it.
Just my $0.02,
Dave C
mcampana 05-06-2012, 09:53 AM yeah!
desertbears 05-08-2012, 12:04 PM The motorcycle.com app needs lots of work to equal Tapatalk. It would be much easier to add to Tapatalk.

From the admin responses I have seen and the lack of any more responses from admin, not looking like they will be enabling tapatalk.
