What's that fine looking piece of engineering in the first pic to the extreme right, interested in seeing more of that bike ;) Does the BMW make coffee?

The electronic throttle was super responsive.. almost too much at first. But I adapted quickly.

This is the first BMW I have ever ridden. Later in the same visit I rode a RT1200 and a used K1200GT (2007). The RT's engine felt the most "V" like as it is a twin. Both K bikes had very smooth engines.. especially the 6 cylinder GTL.

Check that model for final drive issues and be prepared to pay out the rear for any repairs or parts.

Saw one in the wild this weekend, supposedly the only privately owned one in the US. It was not supposed to be sold but the dealership had 2 for demos and let one go (accidentally). I heard there were some very angry BMW owners out there over this.

This dealer said they have zero K1600's for this year GT or GTL. Deposits for early 2012 being taken now.

i dont get it... that thing is enormous. From the side picture it looks like it would actually be a pretty cool bike without that humongous fairing.

different strokes :usa:

I prefer the GT model over the GTL... however, ... trust me.. the GTL is a cool bike. I felt that the bike was pretty nimble considering its a 1600.

Saw a K1600 rider around Thüringen, Germany, with his wife/gf behind on a R1200R. (Nice contrast to the usual R1200GS/F650GS couples). Was easy to overtake, that's all I need to know about that ;)
