I'm a Madison BMW Club member and ex pres. that is now on a Versys for my main steed.

This rally is a real riders rally, and we welcome and embrace all brands.
Great roads.
It is mostly a camping rally with some rooms available. (call early)
We could have a Versys rendezvous, and would welcome any riders.
We get about 300 people at the rally, so very manageable. And only $29 for two nights camping and a good Sat. night dinner.

Last year a guy shows up on a Versys, I've never seen one before.
The next day I find myself at a Kaw dealer following some friends to get some oil. They have some to sit on. I WAS HOOKED!

I'll be there on mine.

Yeah, it's a really good one.
If you know someone that is a BMWMOA member, there is a write-up of it in the April issue.

Thanks for the heads-up.

FYI - If you want to ride somewhere in the area, and stretch your legs abit while being entertained, there will be a MotoTrials (Observed Trials) event held near Wauzeka, WI (just south of Soldiers Grove) that Saturday and Sunday. Spectating is free. Here's a link for the exact location: http://www.wisconsintrials.org/ The event starts around 11 am, and ends around 4 pm.

Hey that is great. I'll make sure the Rally chair knows this to put on thinks to do.

And Hwy 131 to Wauzeka is awesome.

One other thought on the Wauzeka Trials - since the "parking lot" is basically a cow pasture, be careful where you step. ;o) Also, if we get several days of hard rain before or during the event, the pasture can get soft. It is not likely to happen, but it may. In that case, it's best to park on the gravel entrance road and walk in.

Yep, and bring your walking shoes anyways. there is a lot of walking to be able to observe trials events.

I've been to the one in Baraboo, ya can almost get lost.

and if you've never been to one, they are really cool.

Toddzilla,

The Wauzeka site is several times larger (and hilly-er) than either of our Baraboo Trials sites. But you should be able to ride a street bike along the main pathway to get closer to many of the sections.

About 10 years ago we used to hold a Trials event in Cross Plains (in the hills north east of town).

Can vouch for the BMW rally. ALL are welcome. I was there last year on my Ultra after a ride to eat up in Black River Falls. Although I was just a visitor. I have a friend whose group rode the T.W.A.T. that weekend last year. Of course they rode through the rally on the way. I will probably make an appearance out there.

@Toddzilla

brother Slob and Thug here! and proud of it.

edited because I had my dates messed up

I expect to be riding the T.W.A.T. that weekend and we'll make a point of stopping by. Of course I won't be on the Versys. :)

I found out our GS, or dual sport, ride leader bowed out of leading the Saturday morning dual sport ride.

Guess who stepped up to lead the ride?
On my Versys of course:D

Only a few weeks left.........I can't wait...........Oh. I don't have to.
I have to go scout the route next Saturday.
Fun Fun.

Very cool Toddzilla! Nice work on the mapping / hillbilly theme. Is that an old Mountain Dew graphic (with the jug)?

So many roads, so little time... Have fun!

Anybody leading an all pavement ride?

Anybody leading an all pavement ride?

Yes. Dave Maly our club member since 1967 has been leading a ride since our first rally in 1969. And will this year also.

I rode through Soldiers Grove on Saturday morning with a group of 5 dual sports. We had stopped in town for gas and were heading out when we saw the group. I didn't see the Versys and I suppose you were on the GS ride at that time. We didn't have time to stop cause we were heading north on the T.W.A.T. ride. Sorry I missed you.
