I live in Switzerland and I have a Versys since 2007. The
last week I made a trip from Bassecourt
(swizerland) to France more precisely at Cannes.
I made this trip in two days (1400 km)
is 869 miles without autoroutoute. I took the road
of Napoleon it vas a dream. For Rentrée I put 12:00
without stopping except for tanker and urinating ...
Versys is really a fantastic motocycle

You get all your camping gear on in those two small bags?

I put my business in a backpack (Special Snowboard)against the top case tent is set above. I made the Trip in 2 days I did not need a lot of cases:

-- Sleeping bag
-- Matelat
-- Tent
-- 1 pair of pants (columbia very fine)
-- 3 t-shirt
-- 1 pair of shoe (motorcycle boots is hard ..)
-- Slip,
-- Toiletry kit, linen dishcloths micro-fiber
-- Combination for rain

I still have a small backpack with me for current affairs and food.
Voilà!
