I have been asked by several people about the thread on my exhaust leak with the TBR that I posted last month. Why am I addressing this? I don't want anyone to think that I am selling them something that is for lack of a better term, CRAP. So I wanted to clear it up with these photos.

When I installed the slip-on, I either tightened it too tight, or the header was smaller than TBR accounted for. Here are the photos. You can see a small "V" in the pipe. This was the first time that I had ever done anything like this so that could also be the cause. This is where it leaked a little. Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up.

Then again, maybe I didn't have the header pushed in far enough. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to elaborate. I just don't want someone spending $400 plus dollars on pipe if this is what they want, if they don't have too.

MB, It's not just you. Make sure that you DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN because the next thing that will happen is the header flange will crack at the bulge. Once that happens you will have two choices:

1) New header.

2) A trip to the muffler shop to have a new piece of pipe about 4" long with a swedge that slips over the remaining collector and slips into the TBR mid pipe.

Fix number two eliminates that dang leak.
