I love this bike. It has been a fun adventure farkling. Here's what I've got so far:

Bags Connection (i.e. SW-Motech) Engage tank bag. Fits absolutely perfect on the Versys - no magnets or straps :)

Helmet lock. The helmet locks under the seat are useless if you have saddlebags (can't get the key in to remove the seat). I bought a 'Helmet Guardian' from Twisted Throttle not realizing that the entire rear fender is plastic including the license plate mount - very flimsy. So I found a better mounting place for one of the helmet locks from the Guardian :p

Simple, but effective tank protector stickers (from local cycle shop). Of course, only pattern they had was fake carbon - so at least that's good for another 5 or 10 additional horsepower :D

Givi saddlebags. I had originally ordered the Kawasaki stock units - but after reading horror stories of 5 to 6 month backorders, I decided to ordered the Givi units - I think the Silver compliments the bike nicely. Yes, I know I'm missing the rediculous little bracket for the back that mounts under the passenger hand grips - these are conveniently out of stock at any place in the US...evidently on some slow boat from Italy currently :mad: However, even with just the two front mounts and the hoop around the back they are incredibly solid

SW-Motech crashbars (from Twisted Throttle). Although a total pain in the arse to install, I think these complement the lines of the bike nicely and are totally unobtrusive

One question on the helmet lock. Is this mounted to the givi rack or is it a separate bar that you added.

The twisties were amazing on Saturday. There were literally thousands of bikes out on the backroads! My arm got tired of waving after about 3 solid hours of passing other bikes :P I look forward to meeting you guys too! Hope you guys had a good meet-up down in Centralia.

I purchased my Versys last week and love it already. I will post my farkel pictures soon.

I saw Tim's picture of the FatFoot (kickstand extender) and immediately wanted one. I was used to the center stand on my Concours 14 and feel the stock Versys kickstand might be iffy on some surfaces. I had trouble finding where to order, but finally found the following post in the Versys UK forum:

Timm, what was wrong with the chain gaurd? Also did you use the double-sided tape along with the screws on the fender extender?

Did you have to drill parts and stuff, or did you just had to dissasemble half the bike to install it? Cause it seems to be more affordable then buying sliders...and seems to protect more in my opinion....

Bit late on the replies here - been away for a while.

StonedGP: The problem with the chainguard on the hugger was that it was not aligned over the chain and only covered about half of it. This caused lube to be flung all over the underside of the bike. So I modified it and cut off the built in chain guard to reinstall the stock one.

Kawa007: No drilling of the bike required but I did have to do some modification of the crashbar parts to get it to fit. However, I'm very pleased with the way it looks on the bike once installed. Very unobtrusive and fits perfectly with the lines of the bike.

What modification was required to the crash bar? I am considering putting one in along with the h-pegs. Is there enough room for you h-pegs confortably?

It was actually a couple of the mounting parts that required modification - the replacement locknuts used to mount the crashbars on the front of the motor were too thick to fit in the stock location and required filing down a couple millimeters. It's not possible to use the stock nuts because the threading is different.

Secondly, the bolt that mounts the bars at the rear was about a quarter inch too short. I fixed this by shortening one of the spacer sleeves with a hacksaw.

Neither modification is visible with everything installed. I read on the versys.co.uk site that some others have had similar issues but some said the bars bolted right on with no issues - so, your mileage may vary :)

In your profile it says you have a Versys 2008, it is supposed to be "identical" to the 2007...But I tried the FatFoot on my versys and it didn't fit, it stopped on the swingarm. It appears that theyre might have been some minor adjustments here and there between 2007 and 08...that cause these parts to not fit perfectly on both versions. I returned the Fatfoot and Ernie (the guy who makes them) said he only had one other case that didnt work and it was a europeen Versys (probably the same as my 2007 canadian version). So on the 2008 the Fatfoot fits perfectly. Ill try to find out if this crash bar would fit perfectly on the 07...I hate stuff that don't fit like they should the first time...

Interesting...I was able to use the stock nuts on the front motor mount. Also I didn't have any issue with the bolt on the rear. It was plenty long enough..

sporttour.com got me my plx447 kit (the little tabs at the grab handles) in about 4 days. I love the tank bag, did you get the one with electric built in or not?

There is mounting ring that fastens around the gas tank access hatch. To which the bag just snaps on. I really liked this system. It was quick on and off, and did not damage the paint. I have sold the bike, but do miss it.

Sweet looking V and amazingly clean. I couldn't help notice just hoe clean from the picture with the huggie.
