Iīve done this trip several times on my old Beemer, and usually I spend a week or so, driving around in the alps north from the French riviera (Rhone de alps, Provance de alps). Usually I spend the nights on a campingground, with my own tent.

Iīm planning to go next year around July, this time on my Versys, and Iīm looking for companions - Anyone interested?

I have an idea of some kind of rally, with given points of interest where we get together (campingsites, touristsightes, restaurants), and between them itīs a free ride. This way anyone can jump in, or out of the "rally" at any given time - no obligations!

Itīs nice to ride alone at your speed of choise - but itīs also nice to have someone to talk to at the end of the ride.

Respond to this thread, and will take it from there. Maybe there is someone living in the area, that can give tips about great rides?

Hello, WeryVersy, I'm very interested in doing the ride. However, I would need to work out a few details. My Versys is in the USA. Can I rent one or something similar near the start ?

Nice!
I donīt know if itīs possible to rent a bike (Versys), but problems can allways be solved. I will keep an eye out for rental bikes. I belive there are a rentalplace in Marseille - google it.

My ride starts in southern of Sweden, but itīs possible to "jump in" in France. The ride from Sweden to North of France and south of Germany is just a boring stretch of autobahn anyway.

Itīs in "Rhone de alps" the fun begins!
