: Ontario Canada Riders
Ocean 09-05-2008, 06:58 AM There seems to be a large and growing population of Versys riders in the Ontario provincial area. I know Ontario is a big place but the majority of us seem to be concentrated in the southwestern quadrant.
If you are interested in joining a group ride please respond and state what city you are hailing from and how far you are willing to ride to meet up. Also note when you would be available. I'm thinking in the next few weeks before the weather starts getting nasty.
One of my thoughts is Grey County. They have a waterfall tour - we may not have time to do all of them but we can catch a few, have a few laughs along the way and enjoy riding the crap out of our Vs. Other suggestions are welcome, if you know of a favorite road that you would like to share with others please let it be known.

Based on interest we'll see if we can pull this off. Other bikes are welcome and if you are from another area and willing to ride out this far - you are also welcome. :D
Magnaversys 09-05-2008, 07:48 AM I'm in! Live in Mississauga. NOT available next weekend, (13-14) but wide open after that. Will gladly go a few hours to meet up and ride.
muskie 09-05-2008, 08:35 AM Sounds excellent . I'm not yet positive I will be available that weekend but If I am my wife and I are in.
We could meet up Some place on the South end of the tour. I see we have a new member from Hanover, perhaps we could meet up there (approx 25 mins for us).
I have also forwarded the club homepage address to my wife at work this morning as one of her co workers has a V.
furley 09-05-2008, 03:34 PM I would be in just depends on the Date. And of course if I get permission to be away from the family ( i know it's pathetic! )

Ocean 09-08-2008, 02:33 PM I'm not seeing much response to a Group Ride for Ontario. I know there is a bunch of Versys riders in this province but they are either not reading this forum or have packed up for the winter already.
I'm thinking I'll just show up on the 27th of September in Hanover. I'll find a spot (maybe a Sunoco or Tim Hortons - I don't know what is there, if anything at all) and wait an hour. If no one shows - so be it, I'll head off and do the Grey County waterfall tour and return home. Should be a fun days ride.
muskie 09-08-2008, 05:28 PM Hey Ocean,
I don't know what the 27th will bring but my wife and I want to go for a short ride or 2 this weekend coming.
We could meet you in Hanover or the Tim's in Walkerton and take you for a short Bruce County tour.
:)
Magnaversys 09-08-2008, 05:44 PM If the weather's decent on the 27th, I'm in.

That's a tempting offer but it looks like it's going to be a wet weekend. It's a three hour ride for me - which I don't mind but three hours in the rain wouldn't be as much fun.
I see one dissenter on the 27th. I'm up for moving it to the 28th - if that works everyone. We'll just have to pray for 0 to moderate levels or precipitation.
If we can get three to four riders - I'd be happy with that.
muskie 09-09-2008, 09:11 PM Went for a ride over near Hanover today.
Windy but pleasant. Best to get the wind practice without other distactions like traffic or rain.
furley 09-10-2008, 07:22 AM I could do the 28th, but....... I work the day before, I work 24 hour shifts, so if I have a busy night I won't be going any where so I'm not 100% in. If its a quiet night then I would love to go for a ride.

Ocean 09-16-2008, 06:19 AM Mjr. Rage has started a group ride for the 20th. http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1428 I'm going to try and join that ride. Also, I still want to head to Grey County and try out the watefall tour. I'll be there on the 28th with the 27th (reverse as a rain day). If anyone is still interested we can meet up. I'll put more details together as the date gets closer.
Muskie - I should have taken you up on going up this weekend. It turned out to be great - at least down here it was.

I am afraid I'm working 12hr days the weekend of the 27th so I can't join you.

toocanad 09-16-2008, 06:54 PM Timing is not good for me over the next few weeks, but I'd be up for something at another time.
alphabetsoup2003 09-22-2008, 12:09 PM The could expand to people in southeast michigan
klaurin 11-15-2008, 02:31 PM I am new to this forum and this is my first posting. I too enjoy my Versys very much and I do travel a bit. I spend three months near Mercedes Texas in the winter and usually manage three or four tours through Mexico. I use to ride a KLR and I find the Versys better suited to the longer rides. It would be nice to hear from other riders near London Ont.
Ocean 11-15-2008, 04:13 PM Lucky you - escape the winter and continue to ride. I'd love to join you on one of those tours.
I live about 10 minutes from Niagara Falls - quite a long ways from London, Ontario. Maybe we can meet up next season. The weather is getting dicey around here for any long rides. I'm still riding but mostly keep it local.
