Got seat modified..could not justify $600 for new seat

You can easily make the equivalent of the OEM gel seat from the stock seat - at very little cost. Just unstaple the cover from the front half of the seat; up to the seam. Pull the cover back, peel off the stock foam (keep it somewhere in case you decide some day you want the stock seat back. Lay down a half-inch gel pad on top of the plastic seat base. (I got my gel pad from WalMart automotive section, for $19. I suspect there are internet-accessible sites offering half-inch gel pads.) Cut the gel pad to fit the seat base. Pull the cover back down, stretch it out, and staple it in place. I also got a spring-loaded stapler at WalMarts for $15, and another $5 for staples.)

The seat works great; very comfortable; only cost me $40. Lots cheaper than the OEM gel seat.

Thanks, do you have any photos ? Does it lower the height by 2" or so ?
