Hi guys.....just found this site and I am looking at adding a Versys to the stable. I am 52 and have been riding 32 years, and want to look at this particular bike as a do-it-all fun bike for me. It will be used 85% on pavement and 15% on unimproved roads such as levees, hard-packed gravel and dirt, etc.

Will this bike do this for me? Especially with a change of tires to something like the Maxxis Presa Detours, or any other dual purpose type tire?

I ride almost entirely on the road and love my Versys. For me, it does everything from track to touring. With a trunk and soft saddlebags, I can even do some light shopping.

I've heard great things about the Pirelli Sync tires, those would be my first choice if I rode more gravel roads.
