I am certainly not enamored with the headlights :huh:, and the cutesy wootsy fairing pieces on the sides are unnecessary.

But dang, those headlights! Maybe they will grow on me after a while...

I like last years better.

I like the trade mark round bug eyes but I like those side pieces that give a finished look to the sides. I'll take one.:thumb:

its always a tricky call, at what point do you try something new or stick with the same. to short and you don't build the models brand image, to long and it gets dated. leave it too long and you start to dissappear down a closed ally. you end up people extolling the "classic". sometimes that process happens becuase insufficidnt money is generated from sales to to a new design. left to late and you end up with monstrosities like Enfields, Harley 'classics'.

personally I think the speed Triple has run for long enough as it was, its a minor change but i think it works.

many people are resistant to change. often too resistant to change, but after the initial shock of the new has work off people often embrace the changes

1. longer 10mm wheelbase
2. 5 BHP more
3. 5 kg less
4. smaller petrol tank making rider closer to the front
5. Raised pillion seat
6. Showa front forks

Looks like a cross-eyed praying mantis. But the powerplant with more HP is probably a thrill to ride.

If not for the movie Mission Impossible 2, I probably would have never owned my 2000 Speed Triple. I was quite content with my 1999 Triumph Thunderbird Sport at the time...but Damn!!! that radical styling and 955I motor stole my soul! A dealer up in Rapid city made me an offer I could not refuse and it was GAME ON for about a year or so....then another child was born and blah blah blah...in summation: Speed Triples are indeed INCREDIBLE bikes
