: I need a center stand... HELP!!

I want the bike for long distance sport touring. Key words are I WANT THE BIKE!! But there's no chance for any long distance touring without a center stand, its just too impractical. Has anyone figured out an exhaust mod/center stand that works?

The exhaust fairing is mounted to an aluminum bracket. I had ideas of rerouting the exhaust to a side mount and replacing the fairing mounts with steel brackets to mount a center stand on. Ive even started measuring other manufacturers stand mounting widths to see if I can find one to bolt up.

Has anyone tried this, or figured out an easier way?

Re: the center stand. I'm not sure why you need that. If it's to work on the chain or back tire there's the Quick Stand (http://www.motorcycleradar.com/quick_stand.htm) that works great. A friend of mine has it and I borrowed it once. Loved it. Now, I'm too cheap to buy one, ;) so I made one out of wood. Holds the rear wheel up so I can do whatever work I need.

uuuuuuh, so . . . . genius much? I dont know what else to say. That pretty much rocked my world.

Do you have to buy their spools or anything? It looks like it would mount into an ordinary spool, but you never know with stuff you buy on the internet. . . . ;)

Go here.. http://www.t-rex-racing.com/
Very nice quality at a low price. You need the 10mm spools for the V.

svs, you can make one very cheaply out of an old shower rod, a rubber chair end and a metric bolt 10mm, I think, that goes where the spool would go.

You can plug a tire, oil the chain, clean the wheel etc. Only thing you can't do is remove the wheel, suppose you could, but its not stable or level enough in my view.

Always carry this with me when I travel-just in case.

Machog I like your idea. Way better than my wooden one. And it is a 10mm bolt. When I put my bike up on the stand, I make sure that the fork is locked to the left and I tie the front brake level closed to lock the brake. It's as solid as a rock. When I need it level, I'll put a 2X4 under the kick stand.

This is one I made. Cost about 5 bucks for material, I did my own welding. It goes under the foot peg, very stable.

I'm surprised there's not a center stand from SW-Motech what with all the other gadgets they've come out with for this bike.

so I bought the t-rex sliders and the quick stand from http://www.motorcycleradar.com/quick_stand.htm I am pretty satisfied other then the 70 dollar price tag (that includes all the shipping) but the little safety spring thing that wraps around the slider doesn't fit the t-rex one, if that makes any sense...
I'll get some pics up asap (?) but when I first got it I tried it out and oiled my chain for the first time REALLY good in like 2 minutes... so I figure that alone paid for it... anyway I figure I could make my own but this one fits nicely where the manual under the seat went so I got it everywhere I go...
