Nytrydr 10-17-2010, 09:56 PM South Bay Riders are planning a ride 10/24/2010 Adventure Ride thru the Donner Train Tunnels! I might try to make this ride if the weather holds.
I rode with this group this weekend. Saturday we met in Los Gatos and rode to the Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville. then I stayed the night in Saratoga and went to La Ducati Day in La Honda. It rained on me all the way home but I had a great time.:thumb: So check out the South Bay Riders Forum and hook up a ride.

tomla 10-18-2010, 09:32 PM you have a green V?
that looks like a 2 day ride, but a fun one.
cmoreride 10-18-2010, 09:52 PM Done that route/ride a few times, on my KLR but added a lot more dirt road to the route. Sounds like their going up Forest Hill road to Soda springs Rd. It's about 25-30 miles of rough dirt road. Auburn to Soda Springs & Tunnels about 2.0-2.5 hrs. I would not ride my Versys on Soda Springs Road.

Nytrydr 10-19-2010, 09:34 AM I rode with these guys on Saturday. Mehran said I would do just fine on the Versys. If it's dry I may go. Dirt is my thing anyway. I stayed in Saratoga Saturday night and went to LaDucati Day in LaHonda CA. What a great weekend on my Versys:thumb:

I hope you go I want to hear your impressions. The top of forest hill Rd and Soda Springs Rd is really fun with great vista's. If you'd ride Soda Springs Road on your Versys, that pretty much opens up every Forrest Service Road in the Sierra's.

Weather, Rain. I'm out on this one. Next Spring for sure! Its raining here now and I will get wet going home over Patterson Pass, dammit second time this week. Nothing like riding mountain passes in the rain but Ill take that over the freeway anytime.

contractor 10-23-2010, 07:49 PM Might make this ride, but I wouldn't bring the V...Would bring the yellow bike...Totally indestructable...I've been on a few dual sport rides AIMHO the V wouldn't have made the first mile on the rain rut specials at least with me on it;). Train tunnels look like the big fun though...
