Rode from North Austin today to Hamilton, TX, to scope out the location for an ADV event put on by north central Texas ADV riders for October. A cool front moved through yesterday and it dropped highs from 100sF to 90F so I wanted to get some miles in and get these stock tires worn out..

Next pic: on the way to Lampassas, lotsa views.

Next pic: Sulphur Creek in Lampassas, looked nice from the overpass, didn't look so good up close.

Next pic: On the road to Evant, hoping the camera wouldn't blow out of my hand, I'm rusty, not much practice lately.

Next pic: The Circle T Arena and Hotel, they are giving us a special rate of $99 a night, it's definitely nice, and I don't have any camping gear, gave it all to my daughter and I think she gave it all away....

The Versys ran GREAT! I am getting it dialed in and am getting more familiar with it. I hope to ride it on some dirt roads soon. may end up putting some off road tires on it before the stock tires are done. Rode home on I-35, ran a steady 85mph, passed 4 cruisers who were camped out in the far left lane, I flew by them.

Hello Jake!! Looks like a good ride! I rode the 3 sisters today, among other roads in the area. Overall almost 400 miles. Damn near two tanks. My ass is a little sore, but had a GREAT day!! The weather was awesome. Passed LOTS of cruisers. Saw maybe 4 or 5 sport bikes, 3 of which were parked. I took my camera, but I have the hardest time pulling off to take pictures.

I won't be able to make that one, but the wife and I will be riding the Texas hill country/Three Sisters the first weekend of November. We expect another couple on their bikes to join us camping at Garner. I'll have the only Versys in that bunch. Let me know if anyone else plans on riding in the area that weekend, and we'll try to meet up. (Cell phone reception can be pretty spotty, so best to make plans beforehand) I know Bear usually doesn't need a lot of excuses to ride out there. The Maples should be starting to turn colors by then too.
