Yep, BARF. Bay Area Riders Forum. We put on a couple of rallies per year to get folks out riding their bikes away from home for a long weekend. For any of you in or near Northern California, we will be starting in San Rafael on Friday, September 10, and returning on Sunday, September 12. Our base of operations for the weekend will be Eureka, on the Redwood Coast of northwestern California. This will open up some epic roads for us, including Hwy 1, the Lost Coast, Hwy 36, Hwy 96 and Hwy 3. Definitely roads that need to be experienced.

I will probably ride my Versys. It's getting some new rubber spooned on this week (Pirelli Scorpion Syncs), and with luck the new shock will arrive in time to install before we go.

Keep us in mind. We typically do two rallies of three days each every year. One rally always goes to Hawthorne, NV, and the other moves around. In 2009 we went to the Central California coast and hubbed out of Paso Robles.

This year we introduced a Euro rally, which was five days in late June, based in Briancon, France. In all cases we do our best to make the rallies as affordable as possible.

it's looking like I wont make this ride as much as I want too. So I may go do a day ride to Hollister and meet up with some guys at Corbin. I saw you suggested a good route to ride on that post. Ive riden Clear Creek on dirt bikes and I once rode my Honda Trans-Alp with a bunch of guys on GS's from the New Idria side though to the Clear Creek side and out 25. My trans-Alp kicked but on the GS's once we were off road, it was fun. they kept making fun of my Honda but not after going through the dirt section. Dirt is my thing, Im slow on pavement:D
