I ubderstand that this is a bit short notice, but this is also just a query if another rider is interested. I get three more weeks of free weekend, and thanks to some circumstances haven't ridden much as I would like. That aside, I want to do at least one good long trip before Fall quarter begins.

I haven't been to NE WASHINGTON yet, so be it a wild hair up my arse or the flight in fight or flight, I am looking at conducting an impromptu ride to/near the border of ID and back. There isnt much in the way of a plan at the moment, except to enjoy hwy 20 for a bit, and make this a two day trip. The wife would appreciate if I had a fellow rider with me, so therein lies my query. if you're interested in coming and have empty time on your hands, let me know.

I'd suggest you ride SR 27 from Spokane Valley South. Great road, nice twisties to play in and good scenery. You can hop over to Idaho US95 from Palouse WA or go on in to Pullman WA and either go south on 195 or over to Moscow ID. Idaho State 8 is also a very nice rice.

One thing to watch on the roads over here this time of year is spilled grain/lentils/peas/chickpeas. That stuff is worse than gravel and after folks have pounded it into dust the least bit of water turns it very greasy.

However these spots are usually easy to spot ahead of time due to all the birds busily cleaning up the mess.

See Healdem's trip report from this end of the state for more in-depth coverage. Enjoy your ride! If I wasn't laid up at the moment I'd join you!
