I bought kawi's hard tail bag when I purchased my bike....needed something that would lock (tend to keep my purse in there), rain proof, and easy to get into in a hurry....

RKA tailbag fits right on the seat. Can even remove the seat with bag attached.

I just got the Axio hard tail bag. Very compact, has a built in backrest and I can also remove the seat without removing the bag. And it follows the shape of the bike.

I bought a cortech tail bagg 65.00 dollors. You can also get matching saddle baggs too Fits the versys like a glove. All baggs come with rain covers. These baggs are a big bang for the buck.

I got the cortech tail bag also and have been using it for commuting. I was using a backpack for a while to carry lunch, thermos and other stuff I needed but it all fits in the cortech tail bag and I just use the shoulder strap from the parking lot to the office. I also have their Super Mini tank bag and like it too.

I got a Cortech Tailbag as well... today was the first day I used it and it works well. I also have a backpack that I use as well... no problems with them coming in contact with each other. I ordered the matching saddlebags over the weekend... :)

I'm ready to go!

Can you give us a site that sells that bag? Now with my OEM saddle bags, I'm thinking this might be a nice combination.

Or, I'll have my dad weld me something together so the OEM trunk WILL work with the OEM saddlebags!!

That's a really good looking pack. I like that a lot. I see newenough.com has them for $105 right now (and they have them in Red too :D )

I don't know if anyone is finding them cheaper, if you are post up. I'm gonna have to order one here soon I think:thumb:

The tail bag looks great on the V. does it present a
problem while wearing a back pack. Also what would
be the best saddle bag setup with a axio hard pack.
I am trying to get mine geared out or up, but their is
a bunch of chouises.kinda confuseing sometimes.

Can you post a picture of the bike from more of a distance to see what it looks like? From what I see it looks like it was made for the V. I would like to see it from some more angles before buying one.

Thanks...

Here is the bike from a distance. I have since added the Givi E41 side cases and this makes a great combination of large luggage for helmet and gear and smaller tail bag for cell, glasses, etc.

Not unless you have a small laptop. A 8 1/2 x 11 document will fit, but no more due to the angle corners. This tail bag is really more for small items such as maps, cell, lock etc. It comes with a net that attaches to the 4 corners of the bag with hooks to carry bigger stuff on top (Have not tried it).

I am getting used to my set-up, and I must say I do like it.

Givi T439 on the seat and put Bags-Connection RackPack on my luggage rack. Both hold 1 full face helmet and both expand out, both with rain liners.

That's a lot of weight behind your rear wheel. Does it mess with your handling?

I've been happy with the Cortech tail bag. Mounts and comes off bike easy, looks nice, and expands to about a 1/3 wider when needed. I purchased it from a local dealer for $69...when I want the seat clear, I just simply remove it and place anything I want into the hard bags.

The bags full do not change the handling much, however I just did a trip to Sturgis with a tent, sleeping bag, chair and 2 full bags--It changed the center of gravity and I said that it steered like a wagon load of poop-going off a cliff!!

I will not travel loaded like that again

Do you have a pic of your bike with the E41s mounted? Also, what made you pick those overf the V35?

actar911
08-10-2008, 09:10 AM
Havent't taken any pictures since the installation of the E41. I will try and do so this week and post them. The reason for the E41 vs the V35 is that I wanted to have a place to put my helmet which I had heard that you cannot do with the V35 and also have the flexibility to put smaller case such as the E21 on the same rack.

I use a Nelson-Rigg CL-150 on my bike. Not exactly compact, but isn't huge, and can fit a ton of stuff.

I use the kriega 20L drypack/courier bag. what's nice about these is that they're modular, so you can attach additional drypacks to increase capacity. can be removed with or without taking off the seat.

I've got this as well, roomy enough for daily operations, but for overniting it would do well with the additional side bags.

I use a Rapid Transit SCOUT. It's not a huge bag, but has plenty of room for a toll transponder, sunglasses, cell phone, wallet, toolkit, and basically anything that isn't helmet sized. Here's the link to the tailbag:http://www.rapid-transit.com/rt/products.cfm?products_id=2096

Rapid Transit is owned by Joe Rocket and makes quality stuff that have multiple ways the rider can mount it - a big plus for me and my set up!

BLOODY HELL !!!
finally decide on which tail bag to buy and it turns out it's all a myth...
The "AXIO hardpack Tail Bag" (Part of Harodesign I'll have you know) (Who?).
doesn't exist .
Try everyone. All back vordered with no light at the end of the tunnel.
Bloody Hell indeed.

ARRRRRGH !!!!!

Got a call in to the manufacturer. They said they will have someone in
'the know', give me a call.

Anyone have a spare hiding in their basement/attic/garage, that they don't need...I'm interested. Matt Black if you please.;)
:feedback:

OK, I'll shut up now.
Peace.

Not really, but it will cradle your ars if ya do wheelies. :D I bought one in blue for my V. It's not a match, so I'm gettin' some of the Candy Plasma Blue to paint it and the rear huger fender I just bought.

Here's what I've done. I bought this big round tank bag at Laguna Seca a few years ago, but I don't like anything on my tank. Turns out it fits perfect on the back of the Versys. It sits completely on the top of the seat and is strapped down super tight to the grab rails with 4 zip ties...Doesn't budge, is nice and low, collapses when needed, and can still cary my lunch, a pair of shoes, etc....http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/tenover/photo-5.jpg
