While parking for dinner (my V is pictured in the background), I saw the bike that started it all for me. 1985 Honda Interceptor.
She was in great shape... and brought back some great memories.

If I could still fold up comfortably, I'd still have my Interceptor. Awesome bikes.. The V-4 is amazing.

When I got this bike, I must have been pulled over 5 times for speeding (guilty every time) in the first 2 months of ownership. Luckily, each officer was curious about the design, top speed etc etc .... the conversation always ended with a warning.
It all come to an end on a August night on I-65 in Indianapolis. A large dog ran out from the center median. I didn't have a chance..... Luckily I had a full face helmet, boots, and a heavy leather jacket on. I came away with a dislocated shoulder and some mild road rash (my bluejeans were the weak link in my gear). After repairing the bike, I sold it due to the scare of the accident.
What is ironic about this encounter with the Interceptor...... it was the last motorcycle I owned prior to getting my V.

That is one nice looking bike. I think the only place I ever seen one was over at the Barber museum. Never really looked at a V-4, front to back design.
That's interesting.
Was it water cooled? I wondered if it was air cooled if it had the heat problems some V-twins do, with the back cylinders getting the hot air off the front cylinders, being blown across them.

The V four would be a logical choice for the Versys 1200, don't you think? The Multistrada/Tiger eater!
