2015 650 hydraulic shock adjuster hard to turn

I seem to remember that the rear shock adjuster was a breeze to turn to set the preload when it was new but lately it requires much force. Feels like there's some sort of friction inside.

Is that normal wear and tear? Is there dirt inside somewhere that I could clean or maybe something requiring lubrication? Or should I take it to the dealer and demand a warranty repair?

The bike has ~30 000 kms (18 000 miles)

Mine had less than 1000 miles on it when I got it and I thought it was a bit "stiff" also. Seems to be a bit looser now that I've played with it a couple of times. I don't have as many "clicks" as the OM indicates however.

Well mine is easy to rotate at first on lower preload settings. 0-5 is pretty easy. After that it gets quite hard, never gone beyond 7.

Finally got around to take it to the dealer, they're replacing the entire shock under warranty. Waiting for parts...

I haven't been told, just that the warranty claim was accepted. I'll ask when I leave the bike for repairs.

When I brought the bike in to notify them of the problem, they took a video, some pictures and sent them to Kawasaki central. After two weeks they called be back that the central decided for a shock replacement and it'll take another 3 weeks for the parts to arrive (since there are none in the entire Europe)
