Upcoming changes to the Motorcycle.com App.

Hello,

We’re here to announce some changes to the Motorcycle.com app. Firstly, we regret to say that Tapatalk is pulling its support of our branded Motorcycle.com apps, both the free and paid versions. As a result no further updates for them will be released and they will no longer be available for download as of December 31st 2015. Sites that request it can be added to the main version of Tapatalk, but all app support will need to go through Tapatalk itself.

However, we can now announce that we have developed a brand new Motorcycle App developed with a different company that we will be working very closely with. This will allow for issues to be addressed in a much timelier manner. The new app can be found here!

iOS: Motorcycle Free (Motorcycle.com) by AutoGuide.Com https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/moto...000718653?mt=8

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...torcycle&hl=en

You’ll notice that there’s no paid version of this app. That’s because unlike the old app this one recognizes paid users on the site and is ad free for those groups!

Some other important features include:

Being able to switch freely between light and dark skins!
Being able to upload more than one picture at a time!
Instant push notifications for all of your subscriptions and PM’s
Regular updates directly through the site so you don’t have to search through the app store!
A new streamlined look for speed readers and posters!

We hope you enjoy this brand new app and we thank you for all the time you put in to the old!

As always we welcome your suggestions and issues, so please post them here!
Remember to include your device and operating system when you’re posting issues!

Thanks

So if you are on iOS.
Goto App Store
Search your app 'motorcycle.com free'
And the result is April 2014

Now I have just found a new version but the only way to get it is view the old app then scroll down to 'developer apps' to see other apps made by same company

You then see old app at top

And if you scroll down you see the new app which has completely different name as in your post

New name is Motorcycle free

So what does this all mean to us non-techie users? Will we lose all the stickies and old threads? Will the site appear and work differently? Will we have to re-register and create a new profile? I'm hoping that the answer is that we will hardly notice the change. Please let us know and other users, please ask more questions like this.

Forty years away from 2 wheel fun. Sure is great to be back smelling the roses!!!

CJ...just download it.

I'm running both versions in IOS

they have different look to the forums.

My posts above with images was done using the OLD app... uploading multi pics at once worked great... this was the first time I ever used this feature and it was easy. Using this feature with the new app SUCKS!

I'm not a fan of the new app Large Icons and forum stats listing the forums in dashboard. Simply a waste of iPhone screen realestate.

I also don't like the way the new app displays the thread content... again wasted iPhone realestate with the 20% on the left side of screen reserved for user name.

With the old app you cannot add images to edited posts this sucks.

With the new app the interface is hard to use and adding images to edited posts again sucks and it added it to the end!!! And not where the cursor is.

This post was made with the old app and adding images online is sooo easy and much quicker

Ok here is the large screen forum list of the new app

It is attached at end

Hate how the new app only shows small thumbs and the opens then in safari browser. Prefer inline post view like in old app

Thanks Gigitt for all your input. But, for me, I am just doing the forum on a plain old Mac desktop computer. So, I only know what an app is, but we don't use any of them on our home computer. So, will things change for me, or will it stay status quo? Sorry to be such a Luddite, but we just use our computer for e-mails, the occasional Google search and the forum. Thanks again, Chuck

Mobile App won't effect the desktop experience no.
