Angry Yawn!!!!!!

Why does this website take so long to load every time l swap pages or go onto a different forum or post replies??????

My internet speed is OK, my laptop is not the best, but on saying that, Facebook/Gmail/porno all load up in a nano second, yet it can take 10 seconds for a page to load on here????

PS, when you reply, please use UNtechnical terms that a 64yr old can understand.

PPS, even when l typed it took 10 seconds or more for the words to appear on this post!!!!

So now we know, your an old fart just like me!!

So a suggestion, what operating system are you using ? Windows 7;8; XP **what system

Second, if windows explorer or Firefox, top right ... click on then open" New in Private Window" all the cookies and other **** that follows you around will be left behind, and that is the stuff plus the advertising on this forum that causes slow loading.

And if other inmates on this forum want to correct me or offer other solutions** I am all ears

So, same issues I have been experiencing, and on MaverickAUS' suggestion, I changed my browser (to Chrome), and all is well now. Try it! And thanks to all on this great forum.

Which browser do you use? For me, Chrome is the only one worth a crap anymore. The rest of them run like a dog...at least on my box.

You blame the website, the website is not the issue as it works fine for me (and obviously most others). You give no information as to your browser, operation system etc and expect answers?

My virus program and ad blocker catch all kinds of garbage from this forum. That is why it is slow.

I asked a question, i expected a few unhelpful answers, & you provided me with the best unhelpful answer so far, but l won't let it bother me if you can get over it!!

BTW, part of my original question did give you an insight into my problem "Why does this website take so long to load every time l swap pages or go onto a different forum or post replies??????

You mention Gmail, are you running Chrome? I was running Microsoft Edge also Firefox on desktop windows 7. I switched to Chrome on my laptop, almost 2X faster than edge.

My2wheels - I have experienced nothing of what you're talking about with the website while running on Chrome. You made me curious though.. so I opened up Internet Explorer and while it was slower than Chrome, it wasn't the 10second wait time you're reporting..

If you're using a browser other than Chrome, do you mind giving that a go and see if it solves some of your problems? It's possible something in the version of browser you're using is slightly incompatible with how the site has been designed (maybe using newer technology that an older browser might not know how to handle properly?).

Give that a go and report back.. if Chrome doesn't help, can you give us some more information on the browser you're working with, and we'll see if we can't figure out what the problem is for you.

Something goes here...

Thanks Beany, l am running Chrome & I got rid of any other sites that want to open up my web pages.
It ran OK for my 1st thread post today then "jammed" for a while until l pressed Ctrl + F5 together & now it's working OK, but surely l shouldn't have to "refresh" every time l perform a task?
