When I saw that bike it reminded me that I have a new Vetter Windjammer in my shed.

Congratulations! I came close to buying a '13 with aspirations of turning it into a cafe, but ran across my Moto Guzzi V7 Cafe and went that direction instead.

That Honda is a solid bike, but it does feel smaller than the bikes it pays tribute to.

Nice!

I recall reading a series of articles in "Café Racer Magazine" a couple of years ago on this bike when it came out. After a lot of trial and error, they were able to successfully disable the "speed limiter" on this bike. When they were done, the top speed was way beyond anything sane (160 mph or so), but the process of getting there kept my interest. I thought about buying one of the year-end left over 5 speeds when they were dirt cheap a couple of years ago, but never got around to it quick enough, and were sold before I got there.

UPDATE 12/14/2016:
.
Ordered (directly from Japan) this quarter fairing. They painted it, including the matching stripe. It looks like a perfect color match.
Installed it yesterday - took approx 3 weeks from order to delivery and 58,000 Yen (approx $510) for the fairing, smoked windscreen, custom paint, and delivery.
.
Here are the preliminary pictures

I like it. ALOT. one of the things I liked about the Hondas in the 60s and 70s was the chrome fenders. Glad they put them on the CB 1100. It just looks right.
