I think that we should be grateful that it does not represent the end of another "great war."

That should be an interesting flight! The gravity pull from the alignment will be so small you probably won't feel it!

Not that I know of Phil! LOL It just happens to be the date asteriod 4179 is flying by us! They found that thing in 1989. Invaders the one who told me about it. I forgot about it years ago. It's not going to hit us!

I told you about asteroid 4179 "Toutatis" ?! You mean comet ISON, coming to your home planet next year.

"Stargazers had reason to fear the Mayans were a few days out with their predictions, when an asteroid scraped by Earth, a mere 4.3 million miles from direct collision last night.
Fear not; Armageddon is still scheduled for a week on Friday, but this particular cosmically close shave was visible from the Canary Islands at around 8pm last night. 4179 Toutatis was first seen back in 1934, then disappeared for a few decades before reappearing in 1989.

Although it has passed close to earth in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012, scientists say there is very little chance of it colliding with Earth during the next six centuries. But we will meet again Toutatis, oh yes, we will meet again..."

Thats right! I have been reading about these asteriods and got mixed up.

I'll tell you what. These asteriods are no joke if the planet you live on gets hit! I had no idea how many of these high speed planet busters exsist!

Luckily space is what you would call "really big" and so the big ones do not hit the earth but once every 65 million years.

Hey, this is a fun thread - it just might go on for months if not years after the 21st!

Here's a write up about the coming disastrous day:

Mayan apocalypse: panic spreads as December 21 nears

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...-21-nears.html

The comments after the article were the best. Here's my favorite:

"The world is NOT going to end on 12/21/12. We are too far in debt, we are too poor to die.
Don't worry about December 21, 2012, worry about April 15th 2013 when the government finishes picking your pocket."

.
Life without GOD is like an unsharpened pencil...........
It has NO point

Nice post! LOL

This thread has been all over the map, and as I really miss riding my V because of the weather. It is fun learning from some of the fellow riders.

We have some very intelligent riders on this forum!

Maybe I shouldn't say this but I can only talk about a frackel for so long! LOL

So thank God for the off topic section in the winter time!

I think the cold is getting to invader...

First food additives and now Justin Bieber references.

Still, I really trust his technical knowledge of the Versys.

Good Lord! I had no idea this Justin Bieber was so disliked! He is just some young singer. I've never heard him sing but some people don't like him. I get that!

Anyway I watched a special on the Mayan Calander. This one was different from the other ones. They said we need to watch the climate very carefully?
