My wife empties my wallet as I always a have couple of notes in reserve and when she wants cash for the odd thing i get "honey have you got any spare cash" I never seem to use that reserve cash for me haha and go and get more cash out and tuck it away in zip part and we then get deja vu.

So now at half way across, you still have to go half of the distance left before you can reach the wall. Then at that point, you still have to go half of the distance that is left, before making it to the wall. There is always one half of the remaning distance left to cover, as small as the remaining distance may be, you always have to do half of the distance left before you can go the second half left... You can therefore NEVER get to your destination. It can only appear that you did, as perceived.

We have 20 days left!

The only thing to report is some ads talking about what products will be sold out, and why you should buy some now.

Other then that all news is fiscal cliff! 26,000 Years in the making! We get to live it!

Please feel free to add me to your will!

I realize that the world will end, but it would be the right thing to do.

I am sorry to harsh your buzz, but I do not think that anything will change on 21 December 2012 (other than there will be a solstice and the cycle around the Sun will begin again - so to speak). This is why I liken it to talking about what kind of oil to put into your Versys (or how to break in your Versys, or when to check your valves on your Versys, or whether stainless brake lines change the feel of your Versys' brakes, or.....)

Not sure if you read first post at start of thread.

But anyway, you can harsh my buzz anytime! LOL

I just think its cool we are living through this time period.

It could be just another day to change oil?

I read the first post. I also noted Costco's sales of "survival food." I thought that Costco was responding more to the impending doom from the "financial catastrophe" than from the impending end of the world implied by the Mayans.

I am happy to accept that there will one day be an "end of the world," I just don't think that the Mayans are the ones to predict it. Maybe it will be on 25 December 2013???

This discussion made me think back to the time when people were wondering if the LHC would create a little black hole that would consume the earth. I really liked this video of a couple of cameras operating at the LHC.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful solstice and that humanity wakes up with some more Christmas spirit for lack of better words.

I wonder if the Mayans lived in the southern hemisphere would this impending "end" occur in June?

It's at 11:11 am GMT, so it's simultaneous all over the world.

Now I really need to take exception to this. While the solstice can be timed very accurately and presumably it is the solstice that led the Mayans to end a unit of time on their calendar on this particular day, I cannot believe that the Mayans knew the hour and the minute of the solstice. It is the end of their calendar that people use to imply some sort of impending doom, not the solstice.

So if it is orbital mechanics we are talking about, then something occurs precisely at 11:11. If it is the end of the world, then I am not sure that the Mayans had that kind of precision. Then again, I could be wrong.

The Mayan had the date right... We are now able to determine what time it's at.

Forget about impending doom or the end of the world. The Mayan never made such claims.
