Kawasaki Birthday Cake

My daughter makes incredible cakes for different occasions. I just turned 69 (yes, an old fart, but still riding) and my daughter made this cake featuring tires from my Versys and my KLX250S. I hated to eat it as it was a work of art to me. Notice the faux dirt on the knobs and the spokes made from thin spaghetti. The cake was my favorite as well, German Chocolate!

I'll tell here and she does "hire out" occasionally when she has time as this just started out as something she's done for friends, but she gets requests so much I think she could do it full time. I'm pushing her to put her "portfolio" on the web. She's got great imagination! Most of her designs have come from just asking about peoples interests.

What would she charge for a cake like that? I'm thinking at least $100 based on what I see grocery store cakes go for.

She doesn't do any cookie cutter designs currently, and has no plans to, so to make any money she needs at least to charge $15 an hour. She said this cake took 8 hours, plus the supplies this cake would have to cost at least $150. Apparently, custom cake makers around here charge considerably more, many hundreds. Cookie cutter design cakes go for as little as $75 from some cake makers around here.
