He guys I'm currently considering a 2015-2016 Versys 650 LT.
My current street bike is an 09 Aprilia Tuono Factory. I just posted it for sale on a local site. It'll go up on ADV as soon as I get better pictures. I bought it new and it's been great but I think I want to try something different for a while. It's going to be tough. I love that bike. I still smile every time I ride it.
I actually spend more time in the dirt than on pavement these days. I love Adventure Travel on dual sports. I just road Baja California Sur, Mexico a month ago. I've been fortunate enough to ride around Ecuador and Cambodia in the past few years. I've head trips out to Idaho, Montana, Utah and Colorado. I'm always looking ahead for the next trip. I'm becoming a travel junkie.
Hey guys. New guy from Birmingham, AL here. I live within earshot of the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park. I posted an introduction a few days ago but it never made it through the review process. So I'm trying again.
I love to ride. My current streetbike is an 09 Aprilia Tuono Factory. I'm selling it to change over to the Versatile System side of things.
I love dual sport travelling. Especially foreign countries. I've been fortunate to have some great trips in the last few years. The most current was Baja Sur California, Mexico. Prior to that was Ecuador and Cambodia. I've been out west a few times to ride Idaho, Montana, Utah & Colorado.

I think you will like the Versys - I have an R1200RT which I love dearly but the Versys has truly astonished me. It is an amazing piece of engineering for the price and such fun.
My only gripe is the damn seat, which hurts after an hour or two and it tilts you forward a bit. Other than that it is hard to fault!
Farmerboy, let some of that money go and get the Seat Concepts kit. No more problems. Mully welcome to the V-world. Fun bike but as all bikes a few tweaks makes it just right. I added the Motowerks highway pegs. Love them for longer rides. Enjoy.
I'm already shopping for mods. I think Seat Concepts will be one of the first. I was one of the first to get one on my DRZ back in 2011. I love it. 12V outlet, heated grips and some lights will probably follow soon after.
Welcome! I'm a new member also, but have been addicted for a while now. The best source of knowledge for V's anywhere! I'm learning something new everyday!!
I almost bought a Tuono A couple of years ago. 07 red checkered. beautiful. Wound up buying 07 Triumph Daytona. Which I still have, but it is for sale too. I've always been taught Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly. I'm 65. My guardian angel can't even dream of keeping up with the Daytona. It goes faster than I can think. I also own a 2013 versys 650, and I love it. More fun than A basket of puppies. Not super fast, but It's got punch, and handles curves in a way that is guaranteed to make you giggle. Oh! Barbers is a must see for any bike rider.
I bought one. I have to drive up to Nashville to pick it up Saturday.
A lightly used 2015 Versys 650 LT in Pearl Stardust White. What a name for a color. I definitely think David Bowie should be playing for my first ride.
Anyway. I'm excited. The bike is coming with an OEM topcase and 12v outlet and maybe some grip heaters. I'm still trying to decide if I want OEM or aftermarket. I'm really leaning towards cancelling the oem grips and getting Koso Apollo though.
Enjoy. From your first post I thought you wod end up with a dual sport. You won enjoy the Versys on all the little roads in the hills around Birmingham.
Thanks. I've already got the dualsport ride covered with a DRZ. Also my Beta 300 RR is tagged and mostly street-legal. The Husky TE310 is also tagged but it will hopefully be sold soon along with the Aprilia.
Congrats on the bike. I have the exact same thing and color. I just put the red rim tape on mine that comes on the new 2017 V1000 and it looks cool. Ties in with the red spring.
I've already been thinking about rim tape. I have it on my Beta.
