Versys and wet roads

I logged just over 300 miles on Tuesday the 31st of May here in Central Texas. It was a mix of dry, damp, and wet roads. Being to a Versys and all the rest of Kawasaki's goodies like ABS, Ktrac, and power modes; I encountered nary an issue. I got across shallow water crossings on back country roads and opened it up on posted 85 mph stretches of toll road. When it was said and done I was quite impressed and very pleased. I chose not to ride on loose gravel roads because of the tires. The OEM rubber did not look up to the task, but I could be wrong.

I'd like to know what experiences riders have had with regard to using the OEM rubber on surfaces other than maintained asphalt and concrete.

I have done very MILD dirt/gravel riding with my '14 Versys. Held up to the task alright but I was babying it. @fasteddiecopeman and @AlaskaJeff would know more on this subject (especially with more dirt worthy tires)

First - aboard!
As mentioned, I have ridden quite a bit of dirt, on the OEM tires as well as DS and knobby ones.

On OEM - just be careful, STAND on the pegs, and don't use MUCH front brake...!
