If I was to guess, Southern Ontario?
Just came from a 800KM ride, Peterson Road, Bancroft area, all the leaves are done changing ,got home at 9 PM, slow to warm up and the Sun didn't come out until 2PM. That picture looks like the colour could be good for a couple days .Looking at Monday for another ride, I would be interested where you took that photo.

That is on Thorn Dr, Mount Bridges, ON. A dead end road I was exploring as I poked about a bunch of back country roads for a couple hours in the sunshine yesterday. All just West and North of London.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

We will remember them.

A special Thank You today to all who have served.

At a ceremony this AM where I live in AZ, I was asked, as a Canadian veteran, to make a short presentation. I referred to the poem written by John Gillespie Magee, a 19 year old American Spitfire pilot in the RCAF (412 Sqn) who wrote it a few weeks before he was killed in the Battle of Britain. Here it is:

High Flight

by Pilot Officer (equivalent to 2nd lieutenant) John Gillespie Magee

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the sky on laughter-silvered wings.
Sun-wards Iíve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a thousand things
You have not dreamed of. Wheeled and soared;
And swung high in sunlit silence; hovering there.

Iíve chased the shouting winds along, and
Flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue air.

Iíve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where lark, or even eagle flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I trod
The high un-trespassed sanctity of space;
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

God bless....

Ed

Most of you've seen pics of where I ride in AZ, so here's a pic that my neighbor (who rides a BMW 650 Dakar as well as a Ducati MultiStrada) took about 12 days back of my home in the "Great White North"....

GLAD I'm still down S!

Canada is not snow and blizzards everywhere as evidenced by this photo of my yard that I took minutes ago. It is a balmy 15C (59F) as I type this. Were it not for my 200-metre muddy lane and the fact that my V is "winterized", I would be riding today. I settled for a good long hike with my dog, which also gives me great pleasure.

+ 1 to having an easy Winter. Let's hope that won't mean a late Spring. I'm ready to ride again.

After 123 days of storage (is it sad that I keep track of that?) back out on the road today! Sunny and 10 degrees. Tomorrow's forecast has a low of minus 10 with a wind chill of -19. Gotta love Spring in Canada.

Sunday I managed to take Versys out, a nice sunny 4į and dry roads (still gravel)
Lake is still frozen and we still have tons of snow from the winter storm last week.

o how much I missed this!! vroooom

what happened with the automatic re-size for the photos? I had to reduce the size myself before being able to post it.

After 159 days AWAY from Canada, MOSTLY spent in AZ (I know - three days in CALIF...) - I've ONLY added 6,289 miles to BIG RED's TOTAL... SO FAR (still here till next Monday...)!

Oh the tragedy....

(I DO see ice, but it's USUALLY in my drink.)

Once again we hear the distinctive "chirp" of the Great Canadian Snowbird!

Have a safe trip home Ed, and I hope the weather is nice when you get there!

No need to gloat, Captain Fortunate, you have made us well aware of your winter riding and there is no need to rub it in.

Hey, anyone feeling the cold and need a bit warming, send him your phone number, expect to hear complaining about how hot it is, that he just got back from a 600 mile ride and he is sitting back with a drink with ice in it , because it so hot . FYI I am already on the call list

Got Shinko E705s on the '15 - they're "mud & snow" rated - so I don't care WHAT the weather is...!
