White Knuckle Motorsports

Thinking of buying a Versys from White Knuckle Motorsports in Springville, Utah. Are they a ok dealer? Would be coming out from Wisconsin.

Did you ask your local dealer to price match? It is good to support your local dealer if possible. Otherwise, they close down and you have no support.

It isn't just price, never ridden beyond Grand Junction, CO. I would pick up the bike and ride it to the west coast, down to lower California, and home thru Grand Canyon etc.

You got a bigger pair than me. Pick a new/untested ride and proceed around great expanses of nowhere with doubtful support? I applaud your confidence.

I just won the auction on ebay. New 2016 green/black Versys 1000LT with no reserve. I was high bidder at $8100. Now at soon to be 65 years old I should no better. Pay for a bike over the internet, ride it home, lots of bad things can happen.

Congratulations. I have ridden a new bike 500 miles home. Kawasaki makes great bikes.

Do the break in, service it, and enjoy the ride.

I met a lady in the UP that flew to Washington, bought a BMW, toured the coast and was heading back to NH. We share a few hours on the road, and a meal together, then parted ways.

I was watching that auction just to see how it ended. Awesome deal.

Jump on it and ride west. Get the first oil change done then continue. I bought my first street bike(2009 Versys) in Dallas Tx and rode it 2,100 miles home. Had a great time.

Stuff can happen but you could also die choking on a pretzel so whatever. Go for it.

Meh. I think he/she's making a safe bet. Check CAREFULLY all important fasteners, fluid levels, tire pressure, helmet, coat, boot, armor fit, and stuff the key in the ignition.

That would be an awesome trip!

About 4,000 to 4,500 mile delivery run.

Take your time and enjoy it.

Enjoy Route 101 down the coast - go as far North as you like - It goes all the way to the top of WA and the whole of 101 is worth doing.

Congratulations on your purchase.

Just add the top box and plate, 12 volt dash out let and ride.

Make sure to schedule the initial service (600mi on my 650LT) somewhere along your route to cement the warranty.

He'll be OK. I've purchased several bikes via fly-n-ride before and never had a problem. All it takes is a bit of planning.

My longest distance purchase was Seattle from Houston. Flew up there in February with my heated gear in my luggage and rode the new bike home via I-5 to LA then east on I-10. Before leaving I checked snow cover maps for road conditions and weather reports for fog and rain. I took disposable luggage on the plane up there (bought @ 2nd hand store) , then tossed it after loading everything in the new bike's panniers. It was a very enjoyable ride home and I was toasty warm thanks to the Gerbings.

By the way, when on a long trip, I usually avoid big cities as much as possible. On the Seattle trip however, I rode right through Los Angeles on a Sunday morning about 6:30 AM. Breezed right through, not much traffic at all.
