Raised my front fender today...
The TKC was slightly rubbing inside the fender at speed, even at the stock 120/70 size. Wouldn't have been an issue without a fender extender mounted.
The tire was only barely touching, so I just needed a little bit of a raise. Lucky because with the stock brake hose connecting the calipers on an ABS model, there is very little give.
Started by making two little brackets.
Just two counter sunk holes and two m6x1.0 threaded holes. Both sets of holes 70mm apart, the threaded set 15mm higher than the first.
Stopped by the Ace hardware for some meteric stainless screws. Ace always has a good selection of ss meteric hardware.
The smaller button heads are only 30mm long, not much room for the bottom screw so it can't really go through the back of the bracket.
Did paint my brackets, but you can't see them anyway.
I used counter sunk screws to hold the brackets on, button heads would work here too, there is clearance behind the fender skirts.
Doesn't look like it, but the fender extender is not touching the tire any more.
For any bigger tires or to mount a 19 up front will require a new brake hose.
