I was riding my 73' DT250 Enduro one day out in the boonies and some gent on a late 60's Triumph Bonneville passed me like I was standing still..........he had homemade pipes and some gravel type tires on the thing. There's no replacement for skill.
Any car, truck or motorcycle can be ridden off-road. The ONLY question is how rough of a dirt road can you navigate and how fast can you navigate it. I don't take my big Beemer or my honda sport bike off-road....but I take the Versys off-road all the time. I don't ride it like a motocross machine; I ride it like a mildly capable off-road motorcycle and it does great. I also stay within my skill set. You would be well advised to do the same. Enjoy, but don't get crazy on it cause it's not a KLR or CRF. Any arguments with that?
I've never had the inclination to mount knobbies to Versys. I doubt I ever will. My last dirt bike weighed about 280 lbs and I thought it too heavy and tall.
Nice riding, Mr. Ash! You are an accomplished rider.
Nice ride, well done. That's a lot of machine for that trail.
I'd do that on me ol Elsinore 125 if I still had it. But I don't so....never mind.
