It is in most Walmarts, so you can test the fit.
Holds my phone with its outer case very firmly, has never popped out or loosened up in the past two years.
Only $14... pleases the cheap bastard in me.
I'm curious about that crossbar -- did you fabricate it? Any details or more photos?

Yep, made it... I think I mentioned it once before on here somewhere...

Just welded some tube between two brackets I cut out... plagiarized the idea from one I saw on ebay.

Painted it and bolted it on with some SS hardware...

If'n I do it, I gunna git a wippin .... OK! I do it!!!

Thanks! But that was a little thing, not that hard really.

But then I like metal... and it usually likes me back!

And I get bored late at night at work...

Pass the time with little projects...

That's a perfect rack! Would you make one to sell. If yes, how much?

I use a Tech-Mount for my iPhone 6. It grips on the sides and and does not interfere with the volume buttons. It provides a pretty firm grip and I have never had a problem:

Then to mount it to the the bike I use a Tech-mount pin mount. This style may not work on the Versys, however, Tech Mount offers many other mounting options.

Here's the Otter belt holder that I use on the bike............just above the instrument cluster. I made a metal cross bar that the holder clips onto.

I'd swear by the RAM X-Grip... the one I have now has gone through heat, downpours, and being rear-ended... Over 20,000 miles on this one...

*HOWEVER*, I just got in the Galaxy S8, and you can't firmly mount it, with confidence, without one of the X-Grip legs pressing either a volume, or power button...
Soooo... just ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

+1 on XMount. Have you tried rotating your phone 90 degrees, into landscape mode, in the mount? It will also grip your phone better if it is in a shock proof case. Lot's of cheap case options on EBay.

Tried that... the S8 is long and narrow... only fits into the grips one way, and can't keep the legs off of one or two buttons no matter how I rig it. Shame, because I trust the X-Grip... However, I just cancelled the order I listed above... should have read the reviews first -- apparently the ball and stem aren't the same quality as RAM...

So, I found this, which you can add a RAM ball mount to. That, along with an X-Grip tether, and I think I'm all set... It's a pricey solution, but the phone is a helluva lot *more* pricey...
