Sometime before next Spring, I'll be installing an LED brake light below the license plate. What's the best spot to tap into the wiring? It is pretty tight back there with frame brackets and what not. Hopefully I don't have to take the tail section apart just to tap into two wires! Thx.
I "tagged" into the wires on my '08 and '09 for LEDs on my Al panniers, but NOT on my '15, but I DID remove a lot of stuff on the '15 trying to install my Yamaha R1 shock (from the '09), and here's a pic of that area under the seat. Looks to me as tho' it would be fairly easy. THAT piece I'm holding is the OEM cover for those wire connections - w/ it in place - VERY hard to get near the wires. ONCE it's removed - easy, peasy!
Cool. I can maneuver that cover out somewhat I think. If it's not obvious which are the brake light wires, I'll consult the service manual to find out. But it may be obvious. Thx.
