Does anybody else have this wear?

Does anybody have this issue? Any ideas on what I should do? Maybe paint it or update it...... Just looking for opinions. I just think that it wore out faster than it should have. 2011 with around 3k. It is a daily driver but I live one mile from work.

I don't have that much wear after 25k. You must really be gripping with your legs. There is probably a matching color if you can find the right code.

Some have use some carbon fiber sticker material and cut to size and placed there or just re-painted.

I thought it was abnormal. Maybe sport bike riding habits? I don't really understand. Seen a lot of photos and never one with that wear.

Just paint it or have some sticker / rubber pad to prevent wear from your boots.

Normal wear....your seems a bit more.

I got the same thing pretty quickly on my 2011. Don't care a whole lot as it's now evenly worn.

I'm not too disappointed I guess. Would like to see what others have done to fix it. Maybe just painting it will do.

I had that happen almost immediately to me. I figured it was because I came from a scooter where my knees had nothing to grip, so I had a death grip with my ankles! Has never bothered me but glad to hear I'm not the only one who has it.

back in '08 or '09 someone on this forum was selling color matched stick-on panels to address this issue. I didn't buy one because my wear marks are only noticeable in certain light, looking at a certain angle.

Maybe some paint and some clear stick on armor type film would solve this. I believe Aerostich sells clear armor film.

I started to get that wear. I cut some carbon fiber decal to fit over and liked the look. The decals wear too, but not as obvious. When they wear too much I'm going to replace it with rubber TechSpec material I have in sheets.

I have the same sort of wear and simply put a Joe Rocket sticker over each worn area. Thanks, Joe Rocket, for including them with your products.
The stickers do, as ATYC said, wear as well but not a noticeably and stickers are cheap. Have to admit though that the carbon fiber option looks really good.

I think I like the carbon fiber solution too. Maybe I should hunt some of those down.

I used a pre-cut (round) rubber meant as a protective bumper/chair soles anti-scratch which is super cheap.
