Gauge swap

I will be picking up a wrecked '12 Versys and it will need a few parts including the gauges. It appears the gauges are digital and analog, does anyone know if these are both run electronically or if the speedo is run off a cable? The speedos ratio if cable run?

If both are electronic has anyone done a gauge swap from another bike? At this time im just looking to get the bike in rideable condition and dont want to spend $100+ for a cluster.

Thanks silverfox. Anyone know of donor gauges from other bikes that work? Might just have to use my phone as a speedometer...

Just had a thought. Havent worked a ton with electronic gauges. Are there ratios for electronic gauges or could i wire up a universal speedo to the bike? Something like this? I can make a mount all day, just not sure how the wiring part and speed reading is done

If you download the service manual on this site it tells you the wiring for the instruments. The instruments that you buy should tell you what wire does what. You then just have to match them up. I know it's been done try a search of the site for manual and more info.

There's an aftermarket gauge-cluster that some have installed, but I haven't.
