I have a 2007 and could not find a plug around the area. I wired into an ignition feed going into the dash loom.
I agree that this light is a more convenient system than a gauge. It is right up by the dash and a colour change would be easy to see. How many of us actually monitor our gauges regularly when we ride or drive our car. I know i don't but i do see a light flash, especially indicator warning lights.
I real thumbs up for the Sparkright charge indicator light. Cheap and simple.

I did a search, and 2daMax has taken some good photos of the accessory connector I used. He even used 2 spade connectors as I did.

Yep,
Added for 2010+.
I tapped into here for the dash-mounted socket.

I have a 2008 without the accy. plug so I soldered longer wires to the indicator and used the terminals at the horn for the switched power source.

I was reading in this forum a week or so ago about a water temp gauge and someone said an oil temp gauge would be more useful then a water temp, in my opinon the more you know about what's going on be it water , oil or volts the better to avert distaster, we all know that oil can overheat the water via bearings or friction of some sort and water or the lack of can do same to oil, just saying.

I would fit a water temp gauge first. Water boils before oil.

I have the same plug on my 2013. Also have two wires with bullet plugs on them and one wire with two female connectors for bullet plugs on it. No power on the one wire with two female connectors.

Link worked for me....just what I need another Chi-Chi to buy! But this one looks useful so I guess I need two, 1 for the "V" and the other for the KLR.

Or was that look THEN leap?

It doesn't seem to be working for me. I see where it says "Ebay link", but it's not clickable.
